The Treasure Hunt Part 4

It’s been quite the adventure, with spending some time getting sunburns in downtown Springfield, taking a nap in a park, and getting ready for date night! Last night we dressed up, got all fancy, and headed down to Branson, MO for dinner and a show. We ate at a wonderful Italian restaurant, and then went to see the Twelve Irish Tenors, which was AMAZING! I definitely recommend stopping by to do that, you know, if your ever driving through southwest Missouri.

Today is a little more relaxing since we have the 10 hour drive tomorrow back home. We visited the Springfield Nature Center and went for a short hike.

The Nature Center was definitely one of the nicer ones I have ever visited. I’m sorry for the pictures not being too great, the lightning was done great for the exhibits and activities, just not for photos. haha.

The visitor center had an exhibit room with fake trees and rocks, kinda made me feel like I was in a Zoo!

There was a small cave with fake bats, crickets, salamanders, and when you stood inside it had cave "noises" as well.

This was probably my favorite part! In the fake trees, they had either mushrooms, or tree limbs you could pull open to see facts about wildlife, insects, and plants that need trees to survive.

I really love the way this is designed, big letters and pictures that draw you in. As well as a model snake you can touch.

This was something new to me that I really enjoyed as well. It fit along with the historic side of the area.

The trails were great! Very well taken care of, and clearly marked with signs. We saw some wildlife on our little hike! Some deer, birds, a snake, squirrels, fish, and lots of turtles!

I don't think there is an open space on that log.
